Mobiltherm 600 Series are high performance heat transfer oils intended for closed, cold-oil-sealed indirect heating and cooling installations across a wide range of industrial processes; the series can also be used in open systems within grade-specific temperature limits. Formulated from highly refined base stocks resistant to thermal cracking and chemical oxidation, they are very thermally stable and capable of an extremely long service life without deposit formation or viscosity increase. Their heat transfer efficiency, pumpability at both start-up and operating temperatures, and specific heat and thermal conductivity all support rapid, efficient heat dissipation, while resistance to thermal cracking helps flash points remain stable in service. The series covers a range of bulk oil temperature limits by grade: Mobiltherm 603 up to 285 degrees C in closed systems (150 degrees C open); Mobiltherm 605 up to 315 degrees C closed (180 degrees C open); Mobiltherm 610 up to 315 degrees C closed (250 degrees C open); and Mobiltherm 611 up to 315 degrees C closed (275 degrees C open). These oils must be used only in forced-circulation systems, should not be mixed with other oils, and are not recommended for open systems where hot oil is exposed directly to air, since sprayed or leaked hot Mobiltherm oil may spontaneously ignite. Key benefits include high resistance to thermal cracking and decomposition, keeping systems free of sludge and coke deposits and reducing maintenance needs; excellent thermal properties for high heat transfer rates and lower operating costs; good thermal and oxidative stability for long, trouble-free service life; and good low-temperature fluidity for easy cold-system start-up. No formal specification or approval codes are listed on the datasheet.
