PETRONAS HYDRAULIC HFDU 46 is a premium performance, fire resistant, anti-wear hydraulic fluid of the HFD-U type, specially developed for industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to heavy duty conditions and recommended whenever a major fire hazard is associated with the hydraulic system. It is formulated with a high viscosity index synthetic ester base oil enhanced with advanced anti-wear, antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives, providing high anti-wear protection, smooth operation of the hydraulic system and helping to mitigate the risk of violent explosion or fire in the immediate vicinity of flames or hot metal surfaces. The fluid is recommended for industrial and mobile hydraulic systems operating at high temperatures where a major fire hazard exists, such as steel mills, blast furnaces, continuous casting machines and coke plants. Its benefits include excellent fire resistance for a safer working environment, superior protection over a wide temperature range thanks to a high viscosity index, high anti-wear protection for long equipment life, very good thermal and oxidation stability, high rust and corrosion protection, very good water separability and air release, and high multi-metal compatibility. It is also readily biodegradable, with 86% biodegradability in 28 days according to OECD 301 F. Typical properties: kinematic viscosity 46 cSt at 40°C and 9.0 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 181, flash point 300°C, pour point -30°C, FZG fail load stage 10. Performance levels: Factory Mutual Approval, HFD-U fluid and ISO 15380 HEES.
