Manufacturer's description
PETRONAS Grease LiCa MG XHL is an extreme-pressure lithium-calcium grease recommended for lubrication of industrial plain and anti-friction bearings where severe or shock loads and low speeds are experienced. It is also suited to applications where oscillating or limited relative motion and fretting corrosion are likely to occur, and to heavily loaded machine parts such as vibrating shafts, sliding mechanisms, pins/bushes and heavy-duty slideways, with a recommended operating temperature range of -20°C to +120°C (max +130°C). The black-coloured grease is fortified with molybdenum disulfide (2%) and graphite (3%) solid lubricants, giving it exceptional extreme-pressure performance, evidenced by a Four Ball EP weld point of 800 kgf, along with low oil separation, good roll stability and a dropping point of 190°C. It passes the SKF R2F B test at 120°C, offers good water resistance and washout resistance, low-temperature pumpability and reliable rust protection. Grease LiCa MG XHL meets DIN 51502 KPF2K-20 and ISO 12924 L-XB(F)CHB2, with a worked penetration of 280 mm/10 and a base oil viscosity of 930 cSt at 40°C.
Applications
- PETRONAS Grease LiCa MG XHL is an extreme-pressure lithium-calcium grease with dual solid friction-reducing additives, specially developed for applications requiring a heavy-duty grease for long-term use.
- Formulated with selected mineral base oils enhanced with lithium-calcium soap, advanced extreme-pressure, antioxidant, anti-rust, molybdenum disulphide, graphite and corrosion-inhibitor additives.
- It provides excellent load carrying, wear protection, and water wash-out and spray-off resistance in wet, elevated-temperature environments.
- Recommended for the lubrication of industrial plain and anti-friction bearings under severe or shock loads and low speeds, and applications with oscillating or limited relative motion where fretting corrosion is likely.
- Also for machine parts under high loads, such as pins/bushes and heavy-duty slideways with vibrating shafts and sliding mechanisms.
- Recommended for an operating temperature range of -20°C to +120°C (max. +130°C).
Performance & benefits
- Excellent pumpability, with strong performance where low-temperature performance is required.
- Excellent load-carrying capacity, thanks to special solid additives that let the grease withstand heavy shock loads without losing the lubricant film.
- High rust and corrosion protection, protecting bearing and metal surfaces against rust and corrosion even when the grease is contaminated with water.
- High thermal and oxidation stability, withstanding high operating temperatures without hardening or forming bearing deposits.
- High resistance to water wash-out and spray-off, protecting equipment and maintaining lubrication even in the presence of water.
- High friction-reduction capability, as its dual solid lubricants reduce friction and improve equipment reliability.
Standards & approvals
DIN 51502 KPF2K-20
Lubricant designation KPF2K-20 — DIN 51502
The DIN 51502 short code "KPF2K-20": thickener/additive letters, NLGI consistency, upper temperature-range letter and lower service-temperature limit for a rolling/plain-bearing grease.
ISO 12924 L-XB(F)CHB 2
Grease classification L-XB(F)CHB 2 — ISO 12924
An ISO 12924 grease code: "X" marks a grease, the following letters give the lowest/highest service temperature, water resistance and EP performance, and the trailing figure is the NLGI consistency grade.
