Manufacturer's description
eni Rotra 85W-140 is a gear lubricant based on high viscosity index mineral oil, with a specific anti-wear additive package. It is intended for certain types of transmission without hypoid gears — the front-wheel drives of vehicles with transverse engines, for instance. More generally, it can be used in all power transmission gearing that is not subject to excessive loads or sliding between the teeth, and for which the manufacturers prescribe an anti-wear lubricant at API GL-3 performance level.
Applications
- Eni Rotra 85W-140 is a mineral-based, high VI gearbox lubricant, with a specific antiwear additivation. It is designed for the lubrication of some types of integrated transmissions (transaxle) without hypoid gears (for instance, front-wheel drive vehicles with transverse engines). More generally, it can be used in all gear trains where power transfer does not entail excessive pressures or tooth load, for which the manufacturer prescribes a lubricant with an API GL-3 performance level for antiwear properties.
