Manufacturer's description
Prowax 710 is a low-range melting point product in the Prowax line of petroleum slack and scale waxes. It is a translucent crystalline material in the solid state and a straw yellow-to-amber, clear liquid when molten, derived from petroleum via a carefully controlled refining process. Prowax 710 is comprised of a mixture of straight-chain normal paraffin and branched iso-paraffin hydrocarbons, and is produced and controlled according to the ExxonMobil Product Quality Management System, EN ISO 9000 or equivalent standard. Typical applications, subject to applicable laws and regulations in each jurisdiction, include wax emulsions and wax blends. Typical properties include a congealing point of 46.0-56.0°C (ASTM D938), kinematic viscosity of 3.5-4.5 mm²/s at 100°C, oil content up to 30.0 wt% (ASTM D3235), ASTM colour up to 2.0 (ASTM D6045), and a flash point (Cleveland Open Cup, ASTM D92) of at least 204°C.
