About Caterpillar
Cat oils, coolants and greases are designed for the machines and engines that Caterpillar Inc. builds. The oils are grouped by what they lubricate: diesel and natural gas engine oils, transmission and drive train oils, final drive and axle oils, hydraulic oils, and specialty oils such as gear oil. Each family has a short abbreviated name, for example DEO, TDTO or HYDO, followed by a viscosity grade or a variant.
The diesel engine range includes Cat DEO and Cat DEO-ULS, the latter with SYN and Cold Weather variants, while Cat NGEO is meant for engines running on gaseous fuel. Hydraulic oil is sold as Cat HYDO Advanced, with a Bio HYDO Advanced variant. Cat coolants include ELC, ELI, DEAC and NGEC, and the greases run from a utility grease to Extreme Application types for arctic and desert conditions.
