Advanced Synthetic Biodegradeable Extreme Pressure Grease. A fully synthetic biodegradeable grease for use in applications where environmental acceptability is required. This grease is based upon a lithium hydroxystearate soap thickener and is fortified with extreme pressure, antioxidant, anti-wear and anti-rust additives.
SS 15 54 70 — environmental requirements for greases (Sweden)
The counterpart of the Swedish SS 15 54 34 standard applied to greases: high biodegradability, low aquatic toxicity, and no environmentally hazardous classification.
USDA BioPreferred program
US federal program promoting the use of biobased products (including lubricants) through preferred federal purchasing and a certification label.Source
Grease classification L-XCBIB 2 — ISO 12924
An ISO 12924 grease code: "X" marks a grease, the following letters give the lowest/highest service temperature, water resistance and EP performance, and the trailing figure is the NLGI consistency grade.
Lubricant designation KPE2G-30 — DIN 51502
The DIN 51502 short code "KPE2G-30": thickener/additive letters, NLGI consistency, upper temperature-range letter and lower service-temperature limit for a rolling/plain-bearing grease.
The European Union's voluntary ecolabel, certifying that a product, including lubricants, meets reduced-environmental-impact criteria across its life cycle.
OECD 301B biodegradability above 60 %
A test result rather than a norm: OECD 301B measures the carbon dioxide evolved over 28 days. Above 60 % counts as "readily biodegradable", the threshold the environmental labels require.
