Manufacturer's description
Cat NGEO Advanced 40 is designed to specifications that give superior lubrication performance in low-emission, high-output, four-cycle engines running on natural gas fuel. It has been tested and approved by Caterpillar to meet the same standards as Genuine Cat Parts, and is formulated from select base stocks blended with special additives for excellent anti-oxidation/anti-nitration properties, thermal stability, and reduced carbon and sludge formation. It reduces piston and cylinder wear (anti-oxidant and anti-nitration properties prevent deposit buildup that causes scuffing, scoring and wear), increases spark plug and valve life through excellent detergent and dispersant additives, provides corrosion protection via acid neutralizers, and enables extended oil drain intervals when used with Cat's S•O•S Service oil analysis program. It may be used in engines running high-sulfur gas, provided shorter drain intervals are followed according to S•O•S trend analysis. Typical characteristics: SAE 40, API gravity 34, specific gravity 0.855, flash point 252°C, pour point -12°C, kinematic viscosity 115 cSt at 40°C and 13 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 103, TBN 6, sulfated ash 0.50% wt., phosphorous 0.030% wt. and calcium 0.136% wt.
