Cat DEO-ULS SYN SAE 5W-40 is an advanced, full-synthetic, extreme high-performance diesel engine oil developed and tested to provide improved protection and life for Cat engines, delivering long oil-drain capability through its proprietary additive technology and resistance to thermal degradation and oxidation. It exceeds the performance requirements of Caterpillar ECF-3 (Engine Crankcase Fluid Specification) and the API CK-4 category. Benefits include increased fuel economy by reducing friction on internal engine parts, an advanced additive package that improves protection of the engine and the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) while guarding against piston and ring-groove deposits, extended drain intervals when used with Cat S•O•S fluid analysis, and excellent cold-weather operation with cold start-ups down to -30°C (-22°F) while maintaining the high-temperature range typical of SAE 15W-40 oils. It is strongly recommended for all 2007-and-newer on-highway engines with aftertreatment systems using 15-ppm sulfur fuel, and may also be used in engines without aftertreatment systems using up to 5,000 ppm sulfur fuel without affecting the oil change interval. Typical characteristics: API service category CK-4 (diesel) / SN (gasoline), flash point 233°C, pour point -39°C, kinematic viscosity 84 cSt at 40°C and 13.8 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 150, TBN 10, sulfated ash 1% wt., phosphorus 0.110% wt. and sulfur 0.4% wt. It meets Volvo VDS.4.5, DDC 93K222/93K218, Cummins CES 20086/20081, Mack EOS-4.5 and ACEA E9/E7. Distributed in Romania by Bergerat Monnoyeur.
