Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Hydraulic Plus 32 belongs to the premium performance, wear-resistant PETRONAS Hydraulic Plus Series, specially created for a wide range of modern mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to extremely heavy-duty conditions, including the latest high-speed, high-pressure systems. It is recommended for systems with smaller reservoirs and coolers generating high thermal stress, systems sensitive to sludge and varnish formation with tight-tolerance pumps and servo valves, and systems demanding long-life lubricants. Formulated with the highest quality selected base oils, advanced anti-wear, antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives combined with friction modifiers, it delivers excellent anti-wear protection under demanding operating conditions and an oxidation life up to 5 times longer than the minimum ISO 11158 HM TOST requirement. Grade 32 has a kinematic viscosity of 32 cSt at 40°C and 5.4 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 102, a flash point of 220°C and a pour point of -33°C. PETRONAS Hydraulic Plus Series meets or exceeds key industrial specifications and OEM requirements, including the latest Bosch Rexroth RDE 90235, ASTM D6158 HM, ISO 11158 HM, DIN 51524 Part II HLP, GM LS-2, Parker Denison HF0/HF1/HF2, SAE MS1004, Eaton 03-401-2010 and Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70.

Applications

  • Various mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to extremely heavy-duty conditions.
  • Modern hydraulic systems using high-speed, high-pressure pumps that operate at high temperatures.
  • Hydraulic systems with small reservoirs and small coolers that generate high thermal stress on the fluid.
  • Systems sensitive to sludge and varnish formation, with tight-tolerance pumps and servo valves.
  • Hydraulic systems demanding long-life lubricants.

Performance & benefits

  • Ensures proper protection of equipment components during cold starts, through low-temperature protection.
  • Protects equipment components from excessive wear and provides longer equipment life, through excellent anti-wear protection.
  • Maintains excellent filter efficiency without causing undue pressure drop, increasing filter lifetime.
  • Maintains performance under high temperatures and pressure, enabling long oil drain intervals, through excellent thermal and oxidation stability.
  • Inhibits corrosion in the presence of water, improving equipment life, through excellent rust and corrosion protection.
  • Protects the hydraulic system from water's degenerative effects and reduces maintenance costs, thanks to excellent water separability.
  • Maintains excellent efficiency in hydraulic systems and ensures smooth operation through fast air release, reducing maintenance costs.
  • Is compatible with most metal alloys, ensuring trouble-free system performance.
  • Is compatible with most seals and elastomers, preventing oil leaks and contamination from seal erosion.

Standards & approvals

  • ASTM D 6158 HM

ASTM D6158, type HM — antiwear hydraulic oil

The American standard for mineral hydraulic oils of type HM, that is, oils with antiwear additives. It is the ASTM counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO 11158 HM.

  • GM lubrication standard for plant machinery

General Motors’ standard for the lubricants used in the machinery of its plants — hydraulic, gear and turbine oils. It is not a specification for vehicle oils.

  • Bosch Rexroth RE 90235

Bosch Rexroth RE 90235 — fluid rating procedure

Bosch Rexroth’s procedure for rating hydraulic fluids (mineral, environmentally acceptable and fire-resistant) for its own pumps and motors; fluids that pass are listed in RE 90245.

  • ISO 11158 HM

Hydraulic oil, type H HM — ISO 11158

The international standard for mineral hydraulic fluids; class HM is the antiwear oil, the ISO counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP.

  • Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level

The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.

  • DIN 51524-2 HLP

Hydraulic oil HLP — DIN 51524, part 2

Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.

  • SAE MS1004

    Industrial hydraulic fluids (Type H)

SAE specification for Type H industrial lubricants and related products (hydraulic fluids); it is not a brake-fluid standard.

  • Eaton 03-401-2010

    Eaton 03-401-2010 — hydraulic fluids

Eaton's hydraulic fluid specification for its own pumps and motors, which unified the former Vickers I-286-S and M-2950-S requirements.

  • SEB 181 222

    SEB 181 222 — HLP hydraulic oil

A delivery condition for mineral HLP hydraulic oils to DIN 51524-2, used when supplying German industrial equipment.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-68

Fives Cincinnati P-68 — ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-69

Fives Cincinnati P-69 — ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-70

Fives Cincinnati P-70 — ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • AIST/US Steel 126

    U.S. Steel 126 — antiwear hydraulic oil

The steel industry specification for antiwear hydraulic oils: wear protection, oxidation stability and demulsibility in rolling mill systems, where water is always present.

  • AIST/US Steel 127

    AIST/US Steel 127 — EP gear oil

    A US Steel/AIST gear-oil requirement quoted alongside AIST/US Steel 126, for steel-mill gear applications.

  • AISE 127

AISE 127 — steel mill lubrication recommendations

The AISE — today AIST — standard collecting the lubrication recommendations for steel plant installations: oil types, viscosity grades and requirements per equipment group.
