PETRONAS HYDRAULIC 32 belongs to the PETRONAS Hydraulic Series, a range of high performance anti-wear hydraulic fluids specially developed for a wide variety of mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to heavy duty conditions. It is formulated with high quality selected mineral base oils enhanced with advanced anti-wear, anti-oxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives, giving high anti-wear protection, smooth operation of the hydraulic system and up to 3x longer lasting performance compared with the minimum TOST (ASTM D943) requirements of ISO 11158 HM. The fluid is recommended for mobile and industrial hydraulic systems that demand a high quality anti-wear fluid. Conditionally it may also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, subject to confirmation by the PETRONAS Technical Service Team or the OEM manual. Key benefits include low temperature protection at cold start, high wet and dry filterability, high thermal and oxidation stability enabling long oil drain intervals, high rust and corrosion protection, excellent water separability, fast air release and foam stability, and compatibility with most metal alloys, seals and elastomers. This ISO VG 32 grade has a typical viscosity of 32 cSt at 40°C and 5.4 cSt at 100°C, viscosity index 102, flash point 220°C and pour point -33°C, with a TOST life of 3,900 hours. It meets or exceeds DIN 51524 Part II HLP, ISO 11158 HM, ASTM D 6158 HM, Bosch Rexroth RD90220, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton 03-401-2010, Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70, SAE MS1004, SEB 181 222, US Steel 126/127/136 and GM LS-2.
ASTM D6158, type HM — antiwear hydraulic oil
The American standard for mineral hydraulic oils of type HM, that is, oils with antiwear additives. It is the ASTM counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO 11158 HM.
Hydraulic oil, type H HM — ISO 11158
The international standard for mineral hydraulic fluids; class HM is the antiwear oil, the ISO counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP.
Bosch Rexroth RE 90220 — mineral hydraulic fluids
Bosch Rexroth’s data sheet for hydraulic fluids based on mineral oil and related hydrocarbons, for its own pumps and motors: filterability, cleanliness and antiwear requirements beyond DIN 51524-2.
Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level
The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.
Hydraulic oil HLP — DIN 51524, part 2
Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.
Industrial hydraulic fluids (Type H)
SAE specification for Type H industrial lubricants and related products (hydraulic fluids); it is not a brake-fluid standard.
Eaton 03-401-2010 — hydraulic fluids
Eaton's hydraulic fluid specification for its own pumps and motors, which unified the former Vickers I-286-S and M-2950-S requirements.
SEB 181 222 — HLP hydraulic oil
A delivery condition for mineral HLP hydraulic oils to DIN 51524-2, used when supplying German industrial equipment.
Fives Cincinnati P-68 — ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil
An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.
Fives Cincinnati P-69 — ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil
An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.
Fives Cincinnati P-70 — ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil
An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.
U.S. Steel 126 — antiwear hydraulic oil
The steel industry specification for antiwear hydraulic oils: wear protection, oxidation stability and demulsibility in rolling mill systems, where water is always present.
AIST/US Steel 127 — EP gear oil
A US Steel/AIST gear-oil requirement quoted alongside AIST/US Steel 126, for steel-mill gear applications.
GM lubrication standard for plant machinery
General Motors’ standard for the lubricants used in the machinery of its plants — hydraulic, gear and turbine oils. It is not a specification for vehicle oils.
AISE 127 — steel mill lubrication recommendations
The AISE — today AIST — standard collecting the lubrication recommendations for steel plant installations: oil types, viscosity grades and requirements per equipment group.
Parker Denison HF-2 — hydraulic fluid
The HF-2 level of the Denison specification, defined by the vane pump wear test. It is the base requirement for hydraulic oils in Denison equipment.
