Manufacturer's description

Eni BLASIA SX 100 is a synthetic oil for lubricating gears and bearings operating at high temperatures (continuous bulk temperatures to 120 °C, and 200 °C for short periods). Its synthetic base (polyalphaolefins) and special additive package give the oil very high performance, particularly in thermal and oxidation stability. Eni BLASIA SX 100 is recommended for lubricating the bearings of marine centrifugal separators, gears and other machine components running at high temperatures — glass-working, plastics processing, ceramics and paper-making machinery and the like. The product can also be used to lubricate rotary air compressors.

Applications

  • Eni Blasia SX 100 is a synthetic oil for the lubrication of gears and bearings operating at high temperatures (continuous bulk temperatures up to 120 °C with peaks in the hottest points up to 200 °C) The choice of a high quality synthetic basestock (PAO) and a carefully selected additive system has allowed to get very high performances with particular regard to thermal-oxidation stability. Eni Blasia SX 100 is recommended for the lubrication of bearings of marine separators, gears and other couplings operating at high temperatures (glassforming machines, steelstrip mills, furnaces and ceramic and paper-making machinery); the product can also be used in rotary air compressors.

Performance & benefits

  • Long term performance stability even in presence of very high operative temperatures thanks to antioxidant properties and to a very high viscosity index
  • Protection of lubricated components due to an effective antiwear action (FZG stage 12th passed)
  • Non-corrosive behaviour against gaskets and seals as well as metals such as steel, cast iron, copper and bronze
  • Quick separation from water that could accidentally enter the system thanks to an outstanding demulsive capacity
  • Cleanliness of lubricated components for better operative efficiency

Standards & approvals

  • DIN 51517-3 CLP

Industrial gear oil CLP — DIN 51517, part 3

Part 3 of the German lubricating oil standard: class CLP, gear oils with extreme-pressure additives. It requires an FZG pass plus corrosion and ageing protection.

  • Marine transmission fluid (ZF class 04H)

ZF's list of admitted lubricants for ZF marine transmissions; class 04H is the specific lubricant level a given unit in this family requires.Source

  • ISO 12925-1 CKT

Industrial gear lubricant CKT — ISO 12925

Class CKT of ISO 12925-1: gear oils with thermal stability beyond the CKD level, for gear units running continuously hot.

  • AGMA 9005-E02

    ANSI/AGMA 9005-E02 (2002)

The 2002 edition of the AGMA enclosed gear drive lubrication practice. Still widely quoted on datasheets although superseded by the 2016 F16 edition.
