Cat ELC Concentrate is the concentrate version of Cat ELC (Extended Life Coolant), developed, tested and approved by Caterpillar for Cat and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) diesel and gasoline engines. It is mixed with water (typically 50/50) to produce the same factory-fill coolant used as standard in Cat machine cooling systems. Like the premixed Cat ELC, the concentrate uses an advanced organic acid technology (a combination of mono- and dicarboxylate corrosion inhibitors) for maximum protection of copper, solder, brass, steel, cast iron and aluminum, and lowers maintenance costs by eliminating the need for supplemental coolant additives. Extended change-out intervals apply: up to 3,000 hours or 322,000 km (200,000 miles) / 3 years in Cat machines and commercial engines, and up to 12,000 hours or 6 years in Cat-powered on-highway trucks (both whichever comes first, with annual S•O•S Level 2 coolant analysis). Cat ELC meets or exceeds Cat EC-1, ASTM D-3306, ASTM D-6210, SAE J1034 and TMC RP-329/RP-338, and also meets the performance requirements of Cummins, Detroit Diesel, International, Mack and Volvo.
