Environmentally Acceptable Saturated Synthetic Ester Gear and Bearing Fluid. Shell Naturelle S4 Gear Fluid is an advanced synthetic fluid for gearing applications such as thrusters and propulsion drives. Manufactured from fully saturated esters, it is designed to deliver superior load-carrying performance while meeting the requirements for Environmentally Acceptable Lubricants (EAL) as defined by the US EPA 2013 Vessel General Permit (VGP).
