Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Hydraulic 100 is a high performance anti-wear hydraulic fluid recommended for various mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions, and for hydraulic systems demanding high quality anti-wear fluids. It may conditionally also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, though the local Technical Service Team and/or OEM manual should always be consulted before application; for premium-performance anti-wear needs, the PETRONAS Hydraulic PLUS Series is recommended instead. Formulated at ISO VG 100, it provides reliable anti-wear protection, good water separability, low foaming, effective rust and corrosion protection, and a long oxidation life, evidenced by a TOST life of 3,900 hours (specification minimum 1,000 hours) and an FZG load-carrying stage of 12 (minimum required 10). Grade 100 has a kinematic viscosity of 100 cSt at 40°C and 11.2 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 97, a flash point of 240°C and a pour point of -27°C. PETRONAS Hydraulic 100 meets ASTM D 6158 HM, ISO 11158 HM, DIN 51524 Part II HLP, SAE MS1004, and OEM specifications including Bosch Rexroth RD90220, Parker Denison HF-0/HF-1/HF-2, Eaton 03-401-2010, GM LS-2, Fives Cincinnati P-68/P-69/P-70 and US Steel 126/127/136.

Applications

  • PETRONAS Hydraulic Series are high-performance anti-wear hydraulic fluids, specially developed for a wide range of mobile and industrial hydraulic equipment operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions.
  • Formulated with high-quality selected base oils enhanced with advanced anti-wear, antioxidant, anti-rust and anti-foam additives.
  • They provide high anti-wear protection, smooth operation of the hydraulic system, and up to 3x longer-lasting performance versus the minimum requirement of ISO 11158 HM for anti-wear hydraulic fluids.
  • Recommended for various mobile and industrial hydraulic systems operating under normal to heavy-duty conditions, and for hydraulic systems demanding high-quality anti-wear fluids.
  • May conditionally also be used in circulation, splash, bath and ring-oiling systems feeding lubricant to gears and bearings, subject to first consulting the local technical service team and/or the OEM manual.

Performance & benefits

  • Low-temperature protection, ensuring proper protection of equipment components during cold starts.
  • High anti-wear protection, protecting equipment components from excessive wear and providing long equipment life.
  • High wet and dry filterability, maintaining high filter efficiency without causing undue pressure drop, thus increasing filter lifetime.
  • High thermal and oxidation stability, maintaining performance under high temperatures and pressure and enabling long oil-drain intervals.
  • High rust and corrosion protection, inhibiting the corrosion process that occurs in the presence of water and improving equipment life.
  • High water separability, protecting the system from water-degenerative effects and maintaining hydraulic system efficiency while reducing maintenance costs.
  • High air release and foam stability, maintaining high hydraulic-system efficiency and smooth operation thanks to fast air release.
  • Protects the system from air-degenerative effects while reducing maintenance costs.
  • High multi-metal compatibility, ensuring trouble-free performance with most metal alloys.
  • High compatibility with most seals and elastomers, preventing oil leaks and contamination from seal erosion.

Standards & approvals

  • ASTM D 6158 HM

ASTM D6158, type HM — antiwear hydraulic oil

The American standard for mineral hydraulic oils of type HM, that is, oils with antiwear additives. It is the ASTM counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP and ISO 11158 HM.

  • ISO 11158 HM

Hydraulic oil, type H HM — ISO 11158

The international standard for mineral hydraulic fluids; class HM is the antiwear oil, the ISO counterpart of DIN 51524-2 HLP.

  • Bosch Rexroth RE 90220

Bosch Rexroth RE 90220 — mineral hydraulic fluids

Bosch Rexroth’s data sheet for hydraulic fluids based on mineral oil and related hydrocarbons, for its own pumps and motors: filterability, cleanliness and antiwear requirements beyond DIN 51524-2.

  • Parker Denison HF-0 — hydraulic fluid, most severe level

The most severe level of the Denison hydraulic fluid specification: the oil must pass the wear test on both a vane pump and a piston pump, dry and in the presence of water. HF-0 subsumes HF-1 and HF-2.

  • DIN 51524-2 HLP

Hydraulic oil HLP — DIN 51524, part 2

Part 2 of the German hydraulic fluid standard: HLP oils — mineral oils with oxidation, corrosion and antiwear additives. It is the most widely quoted reference in industrial hydraulics.

  • SAE MS1004

    Industrial hydraulic fluids (Type H)

SAE specification for Type H industrial lubricants and related products (hydraulic fluids); it is not a brake-fluid standard.

  • Eaton 03-401-2010

    Eaton 03-401-2010 — hydraulic fluids

Eaton's hydraulic fluid specification for its own pumps and motors, which unified the former Vickers I-286-S and M-2950-S requirements.

  • SEB 181 222

    SEB 181 222 — HLP hydraulic oil

A delivery condition for mineral HLP hydraulic oils to DIN 51524-2, used when supplying German industrial equipment.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-68

Fives Cincinnati P-68 — ISO VG 32 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-69

Fives Cincinnati P-69 — ISO VG 68 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • Fives Cincinnati P-70

Fives Cincinnati P-70 — ISO VG 46 hydraulic oil

An approval number from the Fives Cincinnati list of fluids for use in its own machine tools. Approved hydraulic fluids must pass its own wear, filterability and water separation tests, beyond the DIN 51524-2 level.

  • AIST/US Steel 126

    U.S. Steel 126 — antiwear hydraulic oil
