Manufacturer's description
Mobilube HD Plus, available in SAE 80W-90 and 85W-140 grades, is an extra-high-performance commercial gear lubricant formulated from select base oils and an advanced additive system. It is engineered for heavy-duty commercial transmissions, axles and final drives where extreme pressures and shock loading are expected, offering excellent chemical and thermal stability at elevated bulk oil temperatures, good low-temperature performance and demonstrated rust protection under water contamination or wet storage conditions. It is recommended by ExxonMobil for heavy-duty manual transmissions, axles and final drives requiring API GL-5 and MT-1 performance, across on-highway trucks, buses, vans and cars and off-highway construction, mining, quarrying and agricultural equipment, including hypoid and other gears under high-speed/shock-load, high-speed/low-torque or low-speed/high-torque conditions. It is not recommended for applications requiring API GL-4 performance or for transmissions requiring engine oil or automatic transmission fluid. Key benefits include excellent rust, staining and corrosion protection, effective low-temperature lubrication, wide multipurpose capability, good foam resistance and compatibility with typical automotive seals and gaskets. Mobilube HD Plus meets or exceeds API GL-5 and MT-1, and carries approvals including Mack GO-J, SAE J2360 and Volvo 97321, with quality level to MIL-PRF-2105E and Meritor O-94 (85W-140) and Scania STO 1:0 (80W-90).
