Manufacturer's description
Fully synthetic engine oil – formulated for engine manufacturers. Formulated to meet the particular requirements of manufacturers of high-performance engines, including General Motors, and the API SN or ACEA C3 requirements.
Applications
- Shell Helix Ultra Professional AG 5W-30 for gasoline and diesel engines is formulated to meet the requirements and challenges of the engine manufacturer General Motors, to specification GMW16177 (dexos2™). It is specially formulated to the dexos2™ specification, which combines parts of API SN, ACEA C3 and GM's in-house specifications for gasoline and diesel engines, for use as a global service fill.

Performance & benefits
- Fuel-efficient: passes the ACEA test MB M111FE (CEC-L-54-T-96), with a minimum 1.7% improvement.
- Tested in General Motors plants: passes the GMPTE-T DUR021 valve/camshaft wear test.
- The GMPTE-T MEC024 aeration test and the GM oil-consumption tests on petrol (OP-1 GMPTE-T DUR020) and diesel (OP-1 GMPTE-T DUR019) engines.
- Engine wear and durability: passes the Peugeot TU3M valve/camshaft wear test (CEC-L-38-A-94) and the ASTM Sequence VIII corrosion test.
- Passes the VW TDI piston-cleanliness test (CEC-L-78-T-99), the ASTM Sequence VG engine-sludge test (ASTM D6593) and the MB M271 engine-sludge test.
- Ash control: passes the DV4TD dispersancy and viscosity-increase test (CEC-L-093-04).
