Performance & benefits

  • Fuel efficiency: passes the ACEA fuel-economy MB M111FE test (CEC-L-54-T-96), with a minimum 2.5% improvement (average of three results); also passes the ASTM Sequence VIA test (ASTM D6891) with a minimum 1.3% improvement, and is approved against ASTM Sequence VIB (ASTM D6837)/ILSAC GF-3 requirements.
  • Engine wear and durability: passes the Peugeot TU3M valve/bearing friction and wear test (CEC-L-038-A-94), the ASTM ball rust test (ASTM D6557), the ASTM VIII bearing corrosion test (ASTM D6709), and the OM602A wear, viscosity and oil-consumption test.
  • Engine cleanliness: passes the Peugeot TU3M high-temperature deposits, ring-sticking and oil-thickening test (CEC-L-38-A-94), the oxidation-stability tests (ASTM IIIE/IIIF, ASTM D7320), the ASTM VE/VG sequence (ASTM D5302/D6593) plus IVA (ASTM D6891), the piston-cleanliness test (CEC-L-46-T-93), and the MB M111 residue test.
  • Ash control: passes the DV4TD oil dispersion at medium temperature test (CEC-L-56-T-98).

Standards & approvals

  • Petrol engine oil, API SJ performance level

API's service category for spark-ignition engines. Current category.Source

  • ACEA A1/B1

    ACEA A1/B1 oil sequence

ACEA's sequence for low-viscosity petrol and light-duty diesel engines. An earlier sequence, no longer on ACEA's current list; it remains the level specified for the engines of its era.Source

  • ILSAC GF-2

ILSAC GF-2 (equivalent to API SJ, obsolete)

Obsolete ILSAC class for gasoline engine oils, equivalent to API SJ.Source

  • Ford WSS-M2C913-A — engine oil specification

An early Ford passenger-car engine oil specification, superseded by later -B/-C/-D issues, called for at the viscosity grade Ford specifies for the engine concerned.Source
