Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Urania 5000 E 5W-30 is a fully synthetic engine oil formulated with StrongTech™ technology, engineered to stay stronger for longer by forming a uniquely strong fluid film that extends drain intervals and engine life, maximises performance and keeps your trucks moving, reducing the total cost of ownership. It is a low-SAPS oil suitable for Euro VI and Euro V heavy-duty diesel applications, including modern, high-output, low-emission engines fitted with DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR after-treatment systems, as well as older turbocharged and naturally aspirated diesel engines, on-highway and off-highway, running on high- or ultra-low-sulphur diesel and biodiesel. It is also suitable for OEMs requiring the listed specifications for their CNG vehicles. It is approved Daimler Truck Fluid Release DTFR 15C110, fully backward compatible with the previous MB 228.51 specification and with ACEA E6-16, E7-16 and E9-16. Benefits include optimal viscosity for reliable lubrication, enhanced fuel economy, better fluid-film resistance under severe mechanical stress, outstanding protection of DPF and DOC systems thanks to its low-ash additive system, acid control against corrosion, exceptional thermal and oxidation stability, effective soot control and exceptional low-temperature start-up lubrication. It meets API CJ-4 and ACEA E11, E8, E7, with approvals from Deutz DQC IV-18 LA, MAN M3677, MAN M3775 / M3691, DTFR 15C110, Mack EO-O Premium Plus, MTU Oil Category 3.1, Volvo VDS-4, Renault RLD-3 and Scania LDF-4, and performance levels CAT ECF-3, Cummins CES 20081, Detroit Diesel DFS93K218 and DAF Extended Drain (DAF Rapido Service system required).

Applications

  • This helps in extending engine life and reduces the total cost of ownership. PETRONAS Urania 5000 E 5W-30 is a low SAPS oil that is suitable for Euro VI and Euro V heavy duty diesel applications including modern, high-output, low emission engines fitted with emission control systems using DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR technologies. It is also suitable for older turbocharged and naturally aspirated diesel engine generations, both on-highway and off-highway, running on high or ultra-low Sulphur diesel and bio-diesel. Suitable for OEMs requiring specifications listed below for their CNG vehicles. PETRONAS Urania 5000 E 5W-30 is approved Daimler Truck Fluid Release (DTFR 15C110), fully backward compatible and suitable for use for vehicles recommending the previous Daimler MB 228.51 specification. Fully backward compatible with previous E6-16, E7-16 and E9-16 classifications.

Standards & approvals

  • Diesel engine oil, API CJ-4 performance level

API's service category for compression-ignition engines. Current category.Source

  • Cat ECF-3

    Caterpillar ECF-3

Caterpillar's current engine crankcase fluid category, with capped sulphated ash, for CAT engines fitted with a particulate filter.

  • ACEA E11

ACEA E11 — heavy-duty diesel, low SAPS, extended drain

An ACEA sequence for Euro VI and later heavy-duty diesel engines fitted with DPF and SCR. It requires low-SAPS additive chemistry (reduced sulphur, ash and phosphorus) and the oxidation resistance needed for extended drain intervals.

  • ACEA E8

    ACEA E8 oil sequence

    ACEA's sequence for heavy-duty diesel engines.Source

  • ACEA E7

    ACEA E7 oil sequence

    ACEA's sequence for heavy-duty diesel engines.Source

  • The Cummins specification matching the API CK-4 level, for modern heavy-duty diesel engines with exhaust aftertreatment.

  • Detroit Fluids Specification 93K218

Detroit Diesel's engine oil specification at the API CJ-4 level, for engines with a particulate filter. Sulphated ash is capped to protect the DPF.

  • Deutz DQC IV-18 LA (low ash)

The 2018 issue of Deutz class IV with low ash — Deutz's top level for engines with full exhaust aftertreatment.

  • DAF Extended Drain — long-drain engine oil (superseded)

DAF's pre-PSQL engine oil approval for extended oil-drain intervals, used together with the DAF Rapido Service system; superseded by the PSQL family.Source

  • MAN M 3677 — Euro VI low-viscosity truck engine oil

    MAN's engine oil specification for Euro VI trucks, fitting between M 3477 and M 3977 in MAN's low-viscosity fuel-economy oil line.Source

  • MAN M 3775 — low-SAPS, low-viscosity oil

MAN's specification for low-SAPS, low-viscosity oils delivering fuel economy on Euro VI engines.

  • Daimler Truck DTFR 15C110 (formerly MB 228.51) — low-SAPS engine oil, Euro VI

A low-SAPS oil for high-performance diesel engines with aftertreatment, with severe piston cleanliness and wear protection requirements. The usual Euro VI level. Daimler Truck renumbered the MB-Approval sheets into the DTFR series; MB 228.51 and DTFR 15C110 are the same requirement.Source

  • Mack EO-O Premium Plus

Mack EO-O Premium Plus — heavy-duty diesel engine oil

Mack's engine oil specification for trucks with a particulate filter, matching the API CJ-4 level. The predecessor of the EOS series.

  • MTU Oil Category 3.1 (low SAPS)
