Manufacturer's description

PETRONAS Urania Elite Eco 5W-30 is a fully synthetic heavy-duty engine oil with improved fuel economy and extended service-interval capabilities. Formulated with StrongTech™ technology, it forms a uniquely strong fluid film that protects the engine, retains performance and keeps trucks running and available for longer periods, helping to reduce total cost of ownership. It is a low-SAPS oil suitable for Euro VI and Euro VId heavy-duty diesel applications, including modern high-output, low-emission engines fitted with DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR systems. Approved to Volvo VDS-5 and Renault RLD-5, it was specifically developed for Volvo and Renault Euro VId engines produced from 2021 onwards. Better protection against oxidation, high-temperature viscosity loss and sludge build-up, together with excellent low-temperature circulation, provide more durability, efficiency and reliability. Benefits include extended drain intervals and engine life, up to 0.6% fuel-economy improvement versus a conventional 5W-30 meeting DTFR 15C110, outstanding DPF and DOC protection with a low-ash additive system and effective control of high soot loads. It meets API FA-4, SN, SN Plus, ACEA F01 and JASO DH-2, with approvals for DTFR 15C130 (backward compatible with MB 228.61), Mack EOS-5, Renault RLD-5 and Volvo VDS-5, and performance in line with Cummins CES 20087 and Detroit Diesel DFS93K223. It replaces Urania 5000 LS-FE 5W-30.

Applications

  • This helps to reduce the total cost of ownership. Low SAPS oil, suitable for Euro VI and Euro VId heavy duty diesel applications including modern, high-output, low emission engines fitted with emission control systems using DPF, SCR, DOC and EGR technologies. Approved Daimler Truck Fluid Release (DTFR 15C130), fully backward compatible and suitable for use for vehicles recommending the previous Daimler MB 228.61 specification. Approved Volvo VDS-5 and Renault RLD-5, specifically developed for Volvo and Renault modern high-output, low emission Euro VId engines produced after 2021 and beyond. The better protection against oxidation, high temperature viscosity reduction, sludge build up and excellent low temperature circulation properties, provide more durability, efficiency, and reliability, providing greater uptime performance, helping to reduce Total Cost of Ownership. PETRONAS Urania Elite Eco 5W-30 replaces Urania 5000 LS-FE 5W-30. Enhance your vehicle’s performance by pairing PETRONAS Urania with PETRONAS Tutela fluids

Performance & benefits

  • Contributes significantly to reducing your operating costs through
  • Extended Drain Interval and Engine Life driven by exceptional thermal and oxidation stability under high temperature, providing viscosity stability and preventing formation of deposits and sludge to prolong oil life even under severe conditions
  • Outstanding Fuel Economy, up to 0.6% improvement vs conventional 5W-30 meeting DTRF15C110
  • Outstanding protection for emission after-treatment systems such as DPF and DOC with low ash additive system
  • Effectively combats high concentration of soot build ups, critical to prevent loss of vehicle horsepower
  • Improved lubrication during start-up thanks to its optimal low temperature viscosity
  • Optimal viscosity levels and lubrication during service life, to prevent unplanned breakdowns
  • Better fluid film resistance under severe mechanical stress to deliver enhanced engine durability

Standards & approvals

  • ACEA F01

    ACEA F01 — low-viscosity passenger-car diesel (withdrawn)

A short-lived ACEA sequence for low-viscosity, mid-SAPS passenger-car oils aimed at DPF-equipped diesel engines. It was dropped from the ACEA list and superseded by the C sequences.

  • JASO DH-2

JASO DH-2 — diesel engine oil

The Japanese standard for heavy-duty diesel engine oils in DPF-equipped engines, with sulphated ash capped so the filter does not clog.

  • Daimler Truck DTFR 15C130 (formerly MB 228.61) — low-SAPS, low-viscosity engine oil

Daimler Truck's most recent low-SAPS level, at reduced viscosity for fuel economy on Euro VI engines. Daimler Truck renumbered the MB-Approval sheets into the DTFR series; MB 228.61 and DTFR 15C130 are the same requirement.Source

  • Cummins' most recent engine oil specification, adding oxidation stability and aftertreatment protection requirements.

  • Mack EOS-5

Mack's newer engine oil specification, adding oxidation stability and aeration requirements to EOS-4.5.

  • DFS 93K223 — FA-4 low-viscosity engine oil

Detroit's fluid specification for API FA-4 low-viscosity oils, for extended drain intervals in GHG14/GHG17 engines.Source

  • Renault Trucks' most recent engine oil specification, tightening the oxidation and fuel economy requirements of RLD-3.

  • Mercedes-Benz low-SAPS, low-viscosity truck diesel engine oil

Mercedes-Benz's low-SAPS level at reduced viscosity for fuel economy on Euro VI truck engines. Daimler Truck now issues the same requirement as DTFR 15C130.Source

  • Volvo's most recent engine oil specification, for low-viscosity oils delivering fuel economy on the latest Euro VI engines.
