PETRONAS Syntium 5000 DM 5W-30 is a fully synthetic lubricant formulated with °CoolTech™ technology that effectively controls damaging heat, resists oxidation and prevents oil degradation and deposit build-up, protecting parts and maintaining engine efficiency for the full drain interval. It uses environmentally friendly lubricant technology suited to maintaining the high efficiency of exhaust gas after-treatment systems and fuel economy, and is especially designed for passenger cars using direct-injection turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines such as Mercedes-Benz and VW, also suitable for SUVs, light vans and biofuel-running vehicles fitted with diesel particulate filters, catalytic converters, fuel injectors, multi-valves or turbochargers operating under severe conditions. Benefits include exceptional protection against oil thickening from biodiesel-accelerated oxidation, outstanding resistance to sludge formation, outstanding lubrication capability against abnormal wear in the valvetrain and cylinder wall, outstanding control of damaging heat to prevent turbocharger and piston deposits, and outstanding piston cleanliness that extends engine life and maximizes power output and fuel efficiency. The oil meets the API SQ specification and the ACEA C2 and C3 performance levels, and carries MB approvals 229.51 and 229.52 and BMW LL-04, plus VW 505.00/505.01, FCA 955535-S3, Ford WSS-M2C961-A and OV 040 1547-D30/G30 performance levels. Typical physical characteristics include a density of 0.8518 g/cm³ at 15°C, a kinematic viscosity of 11.80 cSt at 100°C, a viscosity index of 185, a flash point of 231°C, a sulphated ash content of 0.80%, a TBN of 7.71 mgKOH/g, CCS of 5365 mPa·s at -30°C and a pour point of -42°C.

• PETRONAS Syntium 5000 DM 5W-30 is formulated with environmentally friendly lubricant technology to be suitable for maintaining high efficiency of the exhaust gas after treatment systems and fuel economy. PETRONAS Syntium 5000 DM 5W-30 is especially designed for passenger cars using direct injection turbocharged gasoline engines and diesel engines such as Mercedes Benz and VW (please refer to the owner’s manual). It is also suitable for SUVs, light vans and vehicles, running on biofuels and equipped with after treatment exhaust system and emission control devices such as diesel particulate filters and catalytic converters; fuel injectors, multi-valves or turbochargers operating under severe conditions.
